More Isle of Wight Businesses Encouraged to Sign the Armed Forces Covenant

The South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (SERFCA) visited Jersey Camp on the Isle of Wight to oversee the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant by three local organisations: Ryde School, Top Mops and UKSA.

The well-attended event brought together representatives from a range of local organisations and businesses, highlighting the growing support for the Armed Forces community across the Island. SeaSafe’s Lt Darren Toogood was among the speakers, sharing the benefits of supporting veterans, reservists and military families through the Covenant.

SeaSafe, a Gold Award holder under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, is keen to encourage more Isle of Wight businesses and organisations to sign up.

Jeremy Dale OBE said: “The Armed Forces Covenant is a simple but powerful commitment that demonstrates support for those who serve, or have served, in our Armed Forces and their families. There is no cost involved, the process is straightforward, and the support provided by the SERFCA team is excellent throughout.

“It was a fantastic event and very encouraging to see three more organisations making this important commitment. I would urge other businesses and organisations across the Isle of Wight to consider signing up. It is not an arduous or difficult task, and the benefits to both employers and the wider community are significant.”
